Our Approach

Under the facts

Here's what we really do in Youth Work.

What is the YAO Approach to youth work?

Our approach is simple. We take young people through a series of capacity building workshops, mentorship programs and offering them the opportunity to serve their communities. We also create an enabling environment where young people can meet ,build great networks and share ideas.

How do we train Youth workers?

Throughout the year, prospective youth workers are taking through a series of training programs and take short courses to teach them about youth work and how to be effective youth workers. Current and Prospective youth workers participate in the Sharpening your saw youth workers Conference. Also, leaders attend a leaders camp each year to equip themselves for their duties.

How do we ensure that young people get involved?

Ensuring young people feel fulfilled is core to who we are.As an expression of our love for young people ,we work alongside them to ensure we effectively nurture their potentials and raise them to become beacons of light. As part of our flagship program’s package also, participants are entitled to a one year mentoring relationship with the organization which provides them with a sense of direction and get them involved in activities that will ensure their development .

Our PROJECTS

Inside the facts

Here's what we really do in Youth Work.

The Leadership Diary Training Program

This is the flagship training program of Youth Arise organization. For 9 years now, this program has trained over 500 young people nationwide . This program seeks to provide a holistic education by training young people in fields of Leadership, Mentorship, Personal Development, Entrepreneurship, Regenerative Health and Food security.

Sharpening your saw Youth Workers Conference

Sharpening your Saw is an annual YAO conference to equip youth workers in the organization to be effective in their work. The idea is that, sometimes, you need to take a break from the work of your “work” to sharpen your skills. A dull axe won't cut a tree nearly as effectively as a sharp one.

Moses Baffour Awuah in 2013 established the Youth Arise Organisation, he has been training youth workers for 9 years now professionally. He has worked with various USAID projects, and is a certified facilitator by the Africa Lead USAID, and as a youth worker, he has helped over 1000 young people across the country.

I have had other young people give their time, love and care to help me value myself and grow. I used to engage in a couple of unproductive activities but now I'm engaged in meaningful activities that has helped broaden my scope and I'm part of a community that serves others to become their best, not only for themselves, but for their society too

Salomey Nketsiah University of Ghana -- Economics

I joined Youth Arise Organization in 2019. After the conference in the SRC Hall Conference room, life has not been the same. Youth work makes me do things I on the normal daily basis I will not do. Youth works make me have a sense of purpose. Doing youth work takes me out of my comfort zone and makes me do something better with my life. And there is always joy in Youth Work. It broadens my circle of friends and helps me make meaningful relationships. Youth work takes me to place I have not been to and may have never dreamt of being there. Life is really exciting when doing youth work. #Forthiswelive #Forthivewedie #Forthisweexist 💪
