Our Community Development Mandate
We seek belonging as individuals. We want an enabling environment where we can be vulnerable and still feel loved and where we are free to share ideas and explore our potentials. A sense of community unites us and makes us feel we are part of something greater than ourselves. As Charles Duhigg said “There’s something powerful about groups and shared experiences. People might be skeptical about their ability to change if they’re by themselves, but a group will convince them to suspend disbelief. A community creates belief.”
We strive for the holistic development of communities.
Our Community Development Modules
Members of the community development department research and identify communities that need help . Volunteers are organized , funds are raised and we reach out to the selected communities and leave them with smiles.
The community development is in 6 modules;
Charity
Volunteers are given the opportunity to build friendships and develop relationships with inmates of an orphanage home, other than their wardens. Volunteers play a vital role in normalizing the lives of inmates of the home by helping them feel that they are not forgotten and forsaken by society.
Sanitation
In this module, volunteers are given the opportunity to make a difference to the quality of their natural environment – by cleaning up the street, planting trees, protecting our wildlife, and working on community gardens.
Health
This module offers volunteers the opportunity to contribute in a hospital setting. Here, will provide hope, healing and care that truly make a difference in a patient’s stay at the hospital.
Education
Education is the key to unlocking the vast potential of the human race. It is instrumental in providing a better life for people all over the world. Volunteers teach, mark scripts and mentor kids in deprived schools. Here volunteers will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in these deprived schools.
Innovation
In this module, volunteers are given the opportunity to come up with their own project based on a problem they have identified in their community and find innovative solutions to it.

Each day,we strive to provide hope to communities around us .Our bigger vision is to create a model community that will inspire change in people’s behaviours and thought patterns . A model community to serve as a guide to what community is really all about.

Your contribution of $10 a month can get us closer to creating a model community. Community instils in us a sense of belonging and we sure can contribute to it. Lets make it happen!
OUR APPROACH
How we identify communities that need help
A lot of communities need support but we usually start with one then move to the next. Youth Arise through its community development team and officers, research and survey a number of communities within a specified location and then select one with very pressing needs. The organization then visits that community
What we do in the communities we vist
Each community has its individual needs and how each can be addressed. When we visit a community , we realize the indigenes may need a skill set so we educate and train its indigenes on a vocation. If the community lacks amenities or basic needs, we donate and seek sponsors to help develop the communities we are in. But our core aim is to mentor the youth in the community and educate them on pressing matters and how they can contribute to their community's development. In each community we visit, we ensure we instill a sense of what community is really all about in the people before we leave. Communities we visit are always pleased to have us and we are always glad we could contribute to their development
