Getting Started

Youth Arise Organization is a  body of young professionals committed to the principles of mentoring in its education and policy oriented work.

To put it in simpler terms...

We are a family of passionate youth workers of every race, color, tribe and culture with a mission to the world. We are committed to the empowerment of young people, women and communities to live out a purposeful life and achieve their fullest potentials. Empowerment of people is the key word for Youth Arise Organization.

Youth Arise Organization is very often abbreviated as YAO, pronounced as ([waɪ] - [eɪ] - [oʊ])

YAO was established in 2013, as a radio talk show, by Mr. Moses Baffour Awuah, with the goal of mentoring young people. Since its establishment, YAO has operated for nine (9) years.

We recommend filling our Contact Us form to reach us. We typically respond in less than 24 hours.

Our motto is:

Raising Young Role Models.

How it works

YAO targets young people and the communities they live in with the intent of building the capacity of young people and aiding in community development. The grand mission is raising young leaders who are concerned about, and actively working towards the positive development of their communities.

Youth work is a planned program of education designed for the purpose of aiding and enhancing the personal and social development of young people through their voluntary involvement , and which

  1. Complements their formal, academic or vocational training ;and
  2. Is provided primarily by voluntary youth work organizations

(Youth work Act of 2021. Ireland)

Put simply, youth work is any activity that intentionally seeks to impact the lives of young people.

YAO is a youth-focused organization because we look at our work primarily through three lenses:

  1. Youth-driven: the activities of YAO are typically carried out by young people.
  2. Youth-served: the primary focus group of the activities are young people in communities.
  3. Youth-inspired: the activities may not primarily target young people, but the initiatives were inspired by the passions and visions of young people.
