The Orange Institute (OI) on Saturday July 20, 2024, held its first graduation and induction of counselors.
The event which took place at the School of Public Health at the University of Ghana, saw the graduation and induction of 8 new counselors into the United Youth Arise Systems (UYAS). The names of the newly inducted counselors are as follows:
Counselor Oheneyere Konama Agyapong ( Valedictorian) – YAO, Ashanti Region
Counselor Lynn Akorfa Ankra- YAO, Ashanti Region
Counselor Godson Tetteh Akwada- YAO, Ashanti Region
Counselor Venisa Tetteh- YAO, Western Region
Counselor Daniel Ofori Atta- YAO, Greater Accra
Counselor Daniel Polley- YAO, Greater Accra
Counselor Audrey Naadu Banie- Greater Accra
Counselor Jessica Naa Dei Kotei- YAO, Central Region
Addressing the inductees, Executive Chair of the United Youth Arise Systems, Moses Baffuor Awuah urged Inductees to be united in their quest to help other young people become better.
“In your new role as counselors, You’ll hear voices, but be deeply engrossed in your commitment to youth work. It is when our hearts beat as one , that is when we can make a difference in the lives of other young people”, he said.
Delivering her Valedictorian address, Counselor Oheneyere expressed the collective gratitude of the newly inducted counselors emphasizing their readiness to deploy their knowledge and skills acquired through the period to the development of young people through UYAS.
“We acknowledge that we owe a great deal of gratitude to our teacher and mentor, Mr. Moses Baffour Awuah, who believed in us, pushed us to be our best, took us through late evening classes despite his busy schedule, and never gave up on us. We are also grateful to Counselor Anthony, our registrar, for his unwavering support”, she said.
“As we prepare to graduate and embark on the next chapter of our lives, let’s carry forward the lessons we have learned. Let’s embrace challenges with the same determination, face uncertainties with the same courage, and cherish every moment with the same enthusiasm. Let us strive to make a positive impact, pursue our dreams relentlessly, and help others along the way”, she added.
Over the years, the Capacity Building of Youth Arise Organization among other functions, has been in charge of training Counselors, however Orange institute is an institute which was established under the United Youth Arise Systems with a focus on training Counselors and Youth workers for the work of UYAS.
