Youth Arise Donates to Graceland Needy Child Shelter

Youth Arise Organization (YAO) has marked the 10th anniversary of its flagship Community Hope and Charity Campaign (CHCC) with a touching celebration and donation drive at the Graceland Needy Child Shelter Home in Bawjiase.

The event, which took place on Saturday, April 19, 2025, saw YAO making its first-ever donation to the shelter, signifying a decade of compassion, impact, and a renewed commitment to reaching the most vulnerable.

Presenting the items on behalf of the organization, the Country Director of Youth Arise Organization Nathaniel Amo Acquah, expressed deep gratitude to all supporters, highlighting the significance of the milestone.

“This year is special. We are not only celebrating ten years of consistent community service but also reaching out to Graceland for the very first time,” he said. “We chose Graceland because we believe every child here deserves to know they are not forgotten. This is our way of saying we see them, we love them, and we are here to support their journey.”

The donated items included building materials for the construction of washroom and ancillary facilities, food items, stationeries, toiletries, clothing, and drinks—all contributed by the organization’s ambassadors, many of whom are students and entry-level professionals. A free health screening session, hygiene education, scribbling activities for toddlers, and fun games like musical chairs added to the warmth and excitement of the day.

Madam Grace, the founder of Graceland Needy Child Shelter Home, received the donation with heartfelt appreciation. “This means so much to us,” she shared emotionally. “To have young people come together from different parts of the country to do this out of love—it’s overwhelming. These children feel seen, valued, and cherished today. And I’m deeply grateful to Youth Arise for choosing Graceland to mark such a significant milestone.”

Over the past decade, YAO’s CHCC initiative has reached various marginalized groups across the country, including single mothers, school children in underserved communities, and patients in need of basic health services. The organization continues to align its work with the Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring each campaign contributes to a future where no one is left behind.

With this year’s donation and engagement at Graceland, Youth Arise Organization reaffirms its mission to nurture compassionate leadership through action. “This is not the end,” Mr. Amo Acquah added. “It’s a continuation of a movement powered by love, resilience, and the belief that young people can be the change this world needs.”

Youth Arise Organization is a body of young professionals who are committed to the principles and values of mentoring, education, and policy-oriented networking with the aim of empowering young people to be selfless, effective, and dedicated in leadership.
