Embrace lifelong learning and the transformative power of leadership – Ebenezer Spio-Gabrah urges young people

Managing Director of E & L FineHaus Enterprise, Ebenezer  Spio-Garbrah has challenged young people to embrace a mindset shift and commit to continuous self-improvement.

Delivering the opening remarks at the Accra edition of the Leadership Diary Training Program (LDTP) 2024, Chairman for the Occasion, Ebenezer Spio-Gabrah challenged participants to embrace a mindset shift and commit to continuous self-improvement.

Mr. Spio-Gabrah urged participants to embrace the process of unlearning and relearning to set themselves on the right path to success.

“You would relearn, unlearn, and set a right path; your parents would be proud of you, Ghana would be proud of you, Africa would be proud of you, and the world at large,” he stated, underscoring the ripple effect of personal growth on families, communities, and nations.

He assured participants that the program would transform their perspectives over the next six weeks.

“I want you to be rest assured that within the next six weeks, there’s going to be a reshaping of your mind,” Mr. Spio-Gabrah said.

He likened leadership development to planting seeds, emphasizing that the right environment is crucial. “Whatever you have done now is a seed… if it falls at the wrong place, it becomes very difficult to bring out the good in it.”

The chairman highlighted the importance of attitude in leadership. “Leadership is about attitude,” he stressed, sharing a personal anecdote about auditing seven major NGOs despite not having an accounting background. “I was not a chartered accountant, but… because I equipped myself, I learned everything—from law to economics—because we spent sleepless nights learning.”

Mr. Gabrah emphasized the value of lifelong learning, urging participants to constantly prepare for new challenges.

“I always equip myself so that I tackle every new challenge,” he said, reflecting his belief in the power of preparation and adaptability.

He concluded by assuring the participants that the program would position them to drive positive change in their communities and beyond.

“After the six weeks, you would be equipped to go out there, become a community transformer, a nation builder,” he declared, inspiring the participants to seize the opportunity to make meaningful impacts in their communities.
