Team Jua Kuu, a group formed at the Accra chapter of the 2025 Leadership Diary Training Program (LDTP), has emerged as the winner of the prestigious Ideal Africa Finale Challenge with a visionary concept centered on people-powered continental transformation.
Their presentation stood out for its rich symbolism, creativity, and compelling development-focused message.
The Ideal Africa session was introduced at this year’s LDTP to encourage participants to imagine the Africa they want to see and express their visions through artistic and conceptual presentations. Each group was required to design and present its interpretation of an “Ideal Africa” during the finale.
Team Jua Kuu anchored their concept on igniting the power of the people, stressing that Africa’s greatest resource is its human capital. They envisioned a continent where Africans drive advancements in STEM, innovation, and sustainable development through collective effort and empowered communities.
To convey this vision, the team used the umbrella as their central symbol. They explained that the umbrella represents empowerment, protection, and unity, signifying that just as an umbrella shields people from harsh conditions, a united Africa can withstand challenges and build resilient systems that support growth.
Their presentation also underscored the importance of unity, collaboration, and strong inter-African trade, highlighting that cooperation among African nations remains essential for achieving stability, progress, and shared prosperity. Through their creative fusion of symbolism and practical solutions, Team Jua Kuu delivered a message that resonated deeply with participants, facilitators, and judges.
LDTP, now in its 13th consecutive year and organized by Youth Arise Organization, continues to empower young people to design solutions, think critically, and become catalysts for positive change. The addition of the Ideal Africa session has enriched this mission by inspiring participants to reimagine the continent’s development trajectory with creativity, clarity, and purpose.
